ABOUT
Redeemer Preschool is a non-profit organization founded in 1983. It is located at Redeemer Church 1620 Boyd Street, DeSoto, MO. 63020, We take pride in our program, striving to keep current and yet stick to the basics. We keep our class size to 8 children per classroom, per teacher. We have 5 experienced teachers that are our greatest asset.
Our preschool day is VERY busy. While children are arriving we have a free-play time. Then toys are picked up and we have a structured time involving a lesson page, reading time, songs and music, making a project, eating snack, religious message, structured play, and outside time. We work everyday on printing and learning how to write names. The theme for each day is included in all the ways possible. The first month of school we study self-awareness things such as body parts, feelings, family, manners, and senses. Next we concentrate on colors and shapes and then numbers. The last half of the year we learn about the letters of the alphabet. Each theme has a fun time. Letter "J" is sometimes a JUNGLE! Letter "C" is a CIRCUS with CLOWNS that lose the letter "C"(Photo) or on a different year it is CAMPING DAY, so bring your flashlight and sleepng bag! On letter "O" we may be swimming in the OCEAN and "M" is for MAGIC, so of course, we will have a MAGIC SHOW and make a magic card trick for a project! Preschool can supply an experience that just cannot be offered at home. Readiness for kindergarten is sooooooooo important.
We host a musical in March each year which is very popular with our parents. Our teachers write our musicals from scratch by brainstorming ideas and searching for songs that relay a message for the program. The children start learning songs in January. They paint the scenery, create items in the scenery, and work really hard to learn their part. We have a Grandparents' performance during preschool hours and an evening performance for parents and anyone who would like to attend. The admission price is one can of food which is donated to the DeSoto Food Pantry. What a great experience this is for the children! The children grow in talents and confidence while performing to an audience that already loves them!

We have no diaper facilities, therefor children are expected to use restrooms independently.

Child Safety
Your child's safety is, of course, the most important issue. We have inspections from the state, local fire department, and Jefferson County Health Department. You will have an opportunity to fill in who MAY pick up your child and who
MAY NOT pick up your child. Your teacher will get to know you and your family and keep in close contact with you, so if problems come up you will be contacted and you can contact your teacher.
